The Role
TOTEME is looking for a Merchandising Director to join our team full-time in Stockholm and lead our global merchandising strategy. In this role, you will oversee assortment planning, collection development, and go-to-market execution in close collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will ensure our collections are both commercially successful and aligned with the brand’s vision and customer needs across all markets. Leading our Merchandising, Buying, and Planning teams, you’ll use your expertise in luxury fashion and consumer insights to optimize product strategy, drive profitability, and enhance the customer experience. This role reports directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead TOTEME’s global merchandising strategy, aligning product assortment with brand vision, pricing strategy, and business goals.
- Own and manage the global line plan, balancing product depth, pricing architecture, and SKU efficiency across categories.
- Create strategic collection briefs and tools to support sell-in, storytelling, and seasonal planning across all channels.
- Build and maintain range plans by category, price point, and region to ensure optimal mix, segmentation, and volume.
- Oversee the full product lifecycle — from concept to post-season analysis — ensuring market relevance and financial success.
- Use data and market insights to identify assortment gaps, missed opportunities, and areas for exclusive or capsule collections.
- Guide product selection and buying decisions across channels, ensuring a strong, cohesive offer that drives sell-through and margin.
- Establish and manage seasonal budgets based on sales targets, risk assessments, and stock levels.
- Oversee the management of carry-over and never-out-of-stock products, recommending adjustments to the carry-over program and managing inventory levels.
- Define and communicate seasonal buying guidelines to ensure consistency across all sales channels.
- Lead demand forecasting and seasonal planning across channels to meet business objectives and financial targets.
- Define and implement inventory strategies across retail, e-commerce, and wholesale, optimizing availability and sell-through.
- Direct stock management, clearance strategies, and in-season allocations to maintain healthy inventory and maximize performance.
- Contribute to TOTEME’s social and environmental sustainability strategy, with a focus on product offerings, buying levels, and inventory management.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in merchandising, buying, and planning, ideally within the luxury fashion industry.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Deep knowledge of luxury retail, product lifecycle management, and global fashion markets.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven ability to drive sales performance and execute complex merchandising strategies across both physical and digital channels.
- Proficient in merchandising systems, ERP platforms, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving priorities.
- International experience and a nuanced understanding of consumer behavior across markets.

This is a full-time position based at TOTEME’s Stockholm HQ, with a desired start date as soon as possible.
